David Hume

Welcome to the home page of davidhume.org, a site devoted to the works of, and scholarship about, the great philosopher David Hume (1711-1776).

The site was created, and is administered, by Dr Peter Millican, Fellow and Tutor in Philosophy at Hertford College, Oxford University, and currently Co-Editor of the journal Hume Studies, and Henry Merivale, part time Research Officer at the Leeds Electronic Text Centre and part time PhD student at Leeds University (working on Hume’s naturalism).  The site is under development, and Hume scholars with potential contributions or suggestions are invited to send them to peter@davidhume.org.

If you have come here to find Peter Millican’s own papers on Hume, they are available from this link: Peter Millican’s papers on Hume.

Various resources are linked from the menu on the top right-hand side of the page.  In addition to these resources, this site hosts on-line editions of Hume’s works, available via the Hume Texts link in the left-hand menu.  Some of these texts are incomplete and still being prepared; please see the Hume Texts page for up-to-date information.
